Biscuit takes the cake!

Biscuit came to Friends of the Hound as a 10 week old puppy. Puppies rarely come in to rescue groups and are generally surrendered due to broken legs or other injuries. In Biscuit’s case, he had been savagely kicked and literally thrown out of the house because he did a ‘number two’ inside. Fortunately, he was rescued by a passer by and then surrendered to Friends of the Hound.
Experiencing abuse, especially at such a young age, can have a huge impact on a dog, and that’s certainly true for Biscuit, who was a very angry (loud) puppy. Luckily for him, a week later he went to his new home with one of our most experienced foster carers and his life took a turn for the better.
Biscuit now lives with another Greyhound, called Checke, who he enjoys playing with, as well as several foster Greyhounds, a bird called Jelly who is an Indian Ring Neck Parrot, and two devoted two-legged Greyhound lovers.

His Mum has spent a lot of time with him helping him overcome the abuse. One of the things that is helping Biscuit is regularly attending an obedience training school. He really enjoys the training sessions and picks things up very quickly. He graduated from Puppy School in record time, and has recently graduated to Level 2 at the school which is a huge achievement for this 6 month old boy. His Mum hopes to get her “clever little monkey” into agility when he’s old enough, and is very proud of how far he’s come in such a short time.
Greyhound pups, like most other breeds, are playful and lively (nothing like the adult hounds most of us know) and Biscuit is no exception. He’s now a very happy, cheeky, lively puppy who embraces life with all four paws at once. He loves meeting people and thinks everyone should play with him and be his friend. To see him now, no one would suspect the difficult start he had in life.
