FOTH Key Hounders at Animal Rights Forum

Two of FOTH’s key Hounders attended a wonderful weekend of Greyhound Advocacy.

Lisa and Lynette were excited to be part of the Greyhound Protection Workshop where like-minded Greyhound devotees from all around the country (and even the US) assembled together for this inaugural event.

Dr Vickie Sublette (Coalition for the Protection of Greyhounds), Lisa White and Lynette Coxeter (Friends of the Hound) at the Animal Rights Forum in Melbourne March 2024

The day was spent amongst many inspiring and dedicated people, collaborating on the issues faced by Greyhounds, rescue groups and advocates, and discussing the workings in each State of our nemesis, the Greyhound racing industry, with the focus on bringing about an end to dog racing.

Lisa said “it was great to finally put faces to the names of many of our colleagues of this cause, and so lovely to meet up again with those we’ve met in the past”.

One of the take-aways from the day, Lynette believed, was garnering a better understanding of the industry in other states and what is currently happening there with regard to welfare and advocacy.

The Animal Rights Forum saw Lisa on the Greyhound Discussion Panel – joining Andrea from Coalition for the Protection of Greyhounds, Mel Harrison from Free the Hounds, Martina Best from Amazing Greys, Kristy Alger from Animal Liberation Tasmania, and Carey Thiel from GREY2K USA Worldwide, with the lovely Vickie Sublette presenting.
